Also known as antiphospholipid antibodies, these antibodies are known to target the body’s own phospholipids (lipid proteins) and platelets. This test is mainly used to identify the cause of thrombosis (unexplained blood clot), recurrent miscarriages, and antiphospholipid syndrome (apS). It is mainly ordered along with other tests such as cardiolipin antibody and lupus anticoagulant.
